American Standard Split-Systems
We offer American Standard Air Conditioning Split System products because of their quality, reliability, warranty, and factory support that they provide. Their products are built by the same hands that build the TRANE brand. The major difference is the Outdoor units have different color metal louvers and different model numbers,. The Indoor units are identical except for the first letter in the model number is an A instead of a T.
Split-Systems are the most common and versatile of all systems and are often the most practical choice for large areas. The ceiling supply grills can be placed in a number of locations to provide proper air distribution. The equipment is usually in the attic or Hallway closet ( know as an upflow system) The efficiency ratings range from 13 Seer minimum to 21 Seer. The tonnage ranges between 1.5 and 5 tons typically. A load calculation (done by air worth) is necessary to determine proper Air Conditioning Equipment sizing prior to equipment replacement.
The term “split system” is due to the fact that the system is split into an outdoor unit and an indoor unit. The air-conditioning condenser (outdoor portion) will normally be located either on the ground beside the premises or on the roof. The condenser has wires and copper tubes that lead inside to the air-handler / furnace / evaporator coil, which is usually located in the attic or hallway closet. An evaporator coil is typically located within the indoor air-handler unit for electric heat and or Heat Pump systems. For Gas furnace systems the evaporator coil comes as a separate piece and is installed in line with a gas furnace.
Ductless Mini-Split Systems
This type of unit is used where buildings do not or cannot have ductwork. They are required where premises need to be cooled but no duct work can be used due attic size or lack of an attic.
The system has an outside condensing unit, very similar to a ducted split-system air conditioner. It also has copper tubing running to an indoor unit. However, the indoor unit is not ducted. You can have multiple indoor units with one outdoor unit, and these are not ducted either. They simply hang on a wall or mount in the ceiling.
These are not put in a window like the window air conditioner, and they don’t require a huge hole in the wall. They are much quieter than window units because the noisiest part of the system is outside. Another advantage is the ability to have multiple indoor units, giving you air conditioning in more than one room.
We sell several lines of mini splits systems such as , LG products and Daiken
